Our Director acts as International Trade Adviser for Warrington Chamber of Commerce & Industry. As part of the Commonwealth Day Celebration on March 19th the Chamber took part in the “How to Trade with the Commonwealth” event at Chester Racecourse. With time commitments focussed on preparing the many export documents for Chamber member shipments, Tricia was asked to represent them at the event. This also called for an updated banner to promote Chamber services to delegates attending from the Warrington & Vale area.

We worked with the Chamber on their marketing message, categorise their services into short bullet points, then worked with our design team for layout. The result was a generic pull-up banner which could be used at this and other events. We also helped to update their marketing pack.

The Commonwealth Day event included a visit by Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, who attended not only to celebrate the day and launch the newly merged Merseyside and Cheshire Commonwealth Association, but also, with his supporting work to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, to meet with local DofE award winners from Great Sankey High School, Warrington, who had placed third in the 2017 North of England DofE ‘Exporting Excellence’ pilot scheme.

After a 2 year break the new management team of CropWorld Global were keen to engage with relevant companies to exhibit at the re-launch in Amsterdam. Tomorrow The World was appointed as the UK agent to recruit UK exhibitors.

For the benefit of many small companies, including University spin-outs, operating in the sustainable crop production arena, we negotiated with the organisers for cost-effective pods within a shared UK area. These pods, occupied by 7 of our 9 recruited companies, were greatly enhanced by the attractive stand frames and furniture allocated to all exhibitors.

We worked with companies needing design and print for graphics and brochure packs, chased up their exhibitor profiles and raised awareness of other deadlines, such as booking their innovation showcase presentations to gain further exposure. Tomorrow The World was on site to ensure the stand build for the UK delegates ran smoothly. We also hosted the UK area reception desk handling enquiries and facilitating meetings for delegates.  Our German language skills also came in useful to assist a UK delegate during a client meeting.

Our Director project managed plans for the UK stand for the Department for International Trade Chemicals Sector UK at CPhI Worldwide 2016, a peripatetic exhibition focused on pharmaceutical manufacturing, from ingredients to packaging.

The brief was to organise an information stand promoting UK capability in the chemicals and pharmaceutical industry.  With extremely tight timelines and budget we liaised with the show organiser to agree the stand space, layout and furniture, including AV. We worked closely with our designers and the GREAT brand team in London to create and agree graphics panels suitable for a shell scheme wall. We promoted the opportunity for UK companies, whether exhibiting at or just visiting the show, to submit short company information profiles for a back-wall screen presentation. A reception desk and touch-screen podium for stand visitors to search the UK online chemicals directory was also required.

The result was an in-line stand with a backdrop of the London skyline for instant recognition of the UK. We created a 32-slide loop presentation featuring 21 UK company profiles interspersed with DIT-approved images and key facts about industry-relevant UK capability. Graphics for the reception desk and a screensaver for the online directory were also created.

For Manufacturing Week at the 2016 International Festival for Business in Liverpool our client required assistance in designing their message and stand graphics for a small 4m² booth. They also required help on the stand during the week.

The client has a long list of capabilities and service offerings so we collated everything into three main categories. Three panels were designed, each with headers in large font to attract interested parties from afar. Once closer, we made sure each bullet point was short and potent to retain interest and promote further discussion. A panel giving an overview of the company was also created.

For the stand assistance, whilst we are specialists in events and exhibitions, we were also experienced in the client’s industry. Responsibilities were to be there, bright and breezy, each day; maintain stand tidiness; engage with passers-by; take enquiries when the client was occupied in meetings and organise the many business cards taken so the client could decide what level of follow-up was required.

For the third year running Tomorrow The World assisted companies wishing to exhibit at in-cosmetics with focused marketing messages and attention-grabbing graphics for their stands.

One client needed a big message packed into a small poster for their “first-time exhibitor” pod. We worked on an eye-catching design to ensure passers-by instantly recognised the product application. As visitors moved closer, the simple, bullet-point text covering the features and benefits of the product ensured engagement in dialogue to find out more.

The client was extremely pleased with the design and we have reproduced it in various shapes and sizes for them for use at other events – including a table cloth for a product display!

We worked with our client to guide them on the most cost-effective exhibition displays for their contemporary microcement, micromortar and micrometallic surfaces. The displays needed to attract interest from both commercial and residential customers and be suitable for use on formal exhibition stands as well as in-store promotions. The displays were for the market in Costa Rica!

We advised on a 3 x 2 curved pop-up with a counter, plus 2 x pull-ups. The main pop-up could be used when larger spaces were available. Each of the 2 pull-ups had separate messages (one commercial, one residential) to be used in combination with or separate to the main pop-up. The counter, with a stylish graphic, could be used in all situations and its dual-use as a wheelie bin allowed easy transport and protection of the display materials..

We worked with our design team to create an attractive design for all the graphic panels. We incorporated the pebble element of the surfaces as the image for all the bullet point texts – a touch our client loved! We also worked with the display manufacturers to organise the production and delivery of the stand.

2015 saw the 2nd edition of Making Pharmaceuticals, the only UK-based event bringing together all involved from the development life cycle through to successful commercial manufacturing of pharmaceuticals.

The organisers were keen to attract more UK exhibitors offering chemistries for pharmaceutical applications. Such chemistry-solutions companies feed into several industry applications, each with their own own key conferences and exhibitions, so we worked with 3 small companies to design a cost-effective, shared exhibitor presence that wouldn’t devour their marketing budgets.

The result was our tried-and-tested in-line stand, offering an integrated look yet incorporating individual company images. Our design was an eye-catching chemistry classroom from which we also handed out a homework sheet ensuring passers-by had fun, take-home information on the exhibiting companies. We made sure our delegates took advantage of the one-day exhibitor training workshop offered by the organisers in advance of the event. We also encouraged them to book exhibitor presentation pitches during the show.

Once again, working with the UK Chemical Industries Association, we organised the UK pavilion at the 2015 Barcelona edition of  in-cosmetics – the peripatetic and leading global platform for personal care ingredients and a great event to showcase innovative cosmetics ingredients, services and technologies.

For small, innovative technology companies providing products and services to various end-industries, it is not possible to exhibit at all the key trade shows, especially when minimum stand space and expensive price-per-square-metre conditions exist.  Taking space on a shared UK pavilion represented excellent value for money, especially with promotion by the CIA and support from the wider Iberia chemicals team at the British Consulate-General, Barcelona and British Embassy, Lisbon.

The quintessentially British design from our 2014 stand in Hamburg received great feedback from delegates and visitors alike, so we carried this design forward to maximise brand recognition. This was particularly important due to our tight, in-line space allocation. The marketing messages and images were, of course, changed to reflect the 2015 exhibiting companies.

Tomorrow The World was on site throughout to make sure the stand-build ran smoothly and also to take enquiries and facilitate meetings for stand delegates during the show. We also supported the UK Cosmetics Supply Chain welcome drinks reception. This added-value activity was a business-to-business networking event organised by UKTI Barcelona in association with the CIA and the Chemistry Growth Partnership, with additional support from Croda.

After our successful UK pavilion at in-cosmetics in Hamburg the show organisers announced the launch of in-cosmetics brasil in Sao Paulo for September 2014. Brazil is the 3rd largest consumer market for beauty products with Brazilian manufacturers importing most of the ingredients. Brazil is not, however, a market for novice exporters.

Exhibiting at the first edition of any trade show, whether completely new or a spin-out edition of an already successful show, combines excitement at the prospect of new business with a concern that the show is too new to attract the visitor numbers of more established shows.  It was therefore important, especially for this long-haul market, to create a cost-effective group presence justifiable for market research purposes.

Working with 4 UK companies  we delivered our traditional in-line stand but went for a quirky, cartoon-based, “welcome on board” design with the flight check-in desk acting as stand reception. This integrated look with individual company messages and eye-catching images achieved our goal of making passers-by stop, stare and then engage with stand delegates.  For this long-haul market we recommended flight choices and organised group accommodation. Exhibitor profiles were also translated into Brazilian Portuguese.

Tomorrow The World was on site to ensure the stand build ran smoothly and brokered in the support of Denise, from UKTI in Porto Alegre, to help remove language barriers for enquiries and facilitate and interpret at meetings during the show.

For 2014, the 10th anniversary of the show, the Chemspec India team were keen to attract UK exhibitors offering services as well as innovative products and technologies to Indian chemical manufacturers.

We worked with 3 small UK companies, who were new-to-show and new to the Indian market, to create a cost-effective exhibitor package enabling them to research the potential interest from the Indian market whilst enjoying additional, profile-enhancing promotion as part of a UK exhibition stand.  We delivered our tried-and-tested, in-line stand with an integrated look yet individual company messages. Additionally, we assisted with their travel, accommodation and visa requirements. Tomorrow The World was also on site to ensure the stand build ran smoothly and to take enquiries and facilitate meetings for stand delegates during the show.
